Friday Photo: Educating the Public

This week’s edition of the Friday Photo was taken last weekend at a living history timeline event at Carlisle Barracks in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Marc and I were there as participants (in fact, Marc is the one in shorts, on the left) and due to the size of the event and the perfect weather, there was a constant stream of the public wandering by, asking questions. Some reenactors don’t care for public living history events because you frequently end up talking all day, but I enjoy them and I feel that they’re a great way to educate people about history. I love this shot because it so accurately portrays what reenactors spend much of their time doing: talking to crowds of people.
